This just in Microsoft announced. this week that Skype will be retiring its services to users in May 2025. I was on cam last night when one of my regular viewers messaged me with the news.
But who uses Skype anymore? We do. Camgirls do - an entire industry of entertainers (still) do. I have been getting guys off for more than a decade now in the early morning and late night hours via Skype. A popular interface for webcam performers and viewers to connect without laggy streams or connectivity issues, many viewers just prefer it.
Skype will be replaced with "Microsoft Teams" - but what will streamers and viewers do once the switch is made? There are other web and app based video streaming providers - such as snapchat, telegram, signal and discord that streamers can also connect with viewers. - but will the viewers want to make the switch?
